July Currently

I can not believe it is already July 2nd!! It seems like once July gets here summer goes way too fast!! I still have so much I want to do, but this relaxing thing is so nice!!! How often during the school year do I get to chill on the couch with my laptop and a cup of coffee while watching the Today Show???...not too much!

Well, since it is the beginning of the month what better way to start it off by linking up with Farley for the July Currently!!!

On another note...some exciting news!!! My grade level partner and I received a technology grant at the end of the year! We are super excited. We will be getting 20 more iPad minis, a charging/storage cart, and a Mac laptop to keep it all organized. We each already have 5 iPads so this now gives us each 15 iPads!! We are part of a cohort with 12 other grant recipients for the next year. We will be meeting through out the year to discuss and share what we have been doing with our new technology. We are incorporating some project based learning into our social studies and science curriculum. Has anyone got their toes wet with project based learning? Would love to hear about it!!!

I am off to start my day. The tile man is coming to replace some tiles on back patio, need to get my work out in, and of course start organizing  the garage!!

Happy Tuesday to everyone!!

  1. We're in the process of building a garage right now, so we had to get a storage locker to store all my school stuff this summer - and the hubby had to move it all. Not sure he was a happy camper about that. ;) That's awesome about the 15 ipads - I got to pilot 10 Surface tablets in my classroom last year - it was pretty cool, but I found myself wishing daily that they were ipads. ;)

    1. My husband thinks I need to get rid of all my books that the kids read from my previous grades taught. I told him you wouldn't think that if you knew how much money I spent. What did you do with your surface tablets?

  2. Wow! Congrats on the technology grant! That is awesome! I need to start looking into some tech grants for my grade level. We are in dire need of some technology! I definitely can relate...I had hope to plan for the next school year, but that hasn't been accomplished yet. Just as you said, during the school year when do we get the chance to just relax! Enjoy the rest of your summer!

  3. Your blog is cute! I received a tech grant at the end of the school year and I'm getting a whole mess of iPad minis. I can't wait to see what you are doing with them! Maybe we can swap ideas!

  4. I love having iPads in the classroom. I only have a few but there's just so much you can do with them. I just got back from ISTE (huge technology conference) and everything I went to was centered around iPads. Have fun with them and congrats. I'm constantly looking for more grants to apply for, you just inspired me to go search for more!
